People first.
Problem solver.
Always learning.

I’m Jesse, a technical professional moving into IT support. I bring practical troubleshooting, customer service and Python experience — and I’m building my IT skills in a hands-on home lab.

01 / Selected work

Learning by doing.
Solving real problems.

Home-lab projects alongside practical examples from my technical production work.

01
HOME LAB2026

Windows Server & Active Directory lab

Built a virtual environment to practise core IT infrastructure: Windows Server, Windows clients, directory services and network configuration.

VirtualBox / Windows Server 2019 & 2022 / AD DS / DNS / DHCP

Read the project notes

The goal

Move beyond reading about IT infrastructure and practise configuring the services that support a Windows network.

What I worked on

  • Windows Server and Windows 10/11 virtual machines.
  • Active Directory Domain Services, DNS and DHCP.
  • Static network settings and NAT connectivity.
  • Recording working configurations for reference.

Troubleshooting

Investigated NAT and connectivity issues within the virtual environment and adjusted network configuration to restore connectivity.

Experience level

This is a learning environment, not a live business network. It supports my CompTIA A+ study and my move into IT support.

USED IN PRODUCTIONPYTHON

Automating a Maya-to-Unreal workflow

Built a Python tool used in production to transfer animation from Maya to Unreal Engine, combining scripting with practical support for the people using it.

Python / Maya / Unreal Engine / FBX / Workflow automation

Read the case study

The workflow

Artists needed to move animation between Maya and Unreal Engine as part of a film-production pipeline.

My contribution

Built the transfer tool and supported the surrounding software workflow, including installation, dependencies, compatibility and file-path issues.

Transferable IT skills

Breaking a process into repeatable steps, diagnosing failures, working with Python dependencies and explaining tools to colleagues.

Outcome

The tool was used in production. No unverified time-saving or performance figures are claimed.

This case study describes my contribution; no proprietary source code or production assets are shared here.

02 / Skills & software

A technical foundation.
A support mindset.

People & learning

  • Customer service & clear explanations
  • Technical guidance & handovers
  • CompTIA A+ study — in progress
  • Microsoft 365 — developing knowledge

A+ study is ongoing; I do not yet hold the certification.

03 / About & experience

I enjoy making
technology work
for people.

My background combines customer service with technical work in film production. At INVIDAR, I supported colleagues with software, equipment and shared workflows, and built Python tools that were used in production.

I’m now focused on IT support: applying that problem-solving experience while developing Windows Server, networking and Microsoft administration knowledge.

I like understanding what has gone wrong, finding a practical solution and explaining it clearly to the person who needs it.

Currently learning

CompTIA A+, Windows Server and Active Directory home-lab practice, with separate study of Microsoft 365 administration.
